Wonders, they say will never end as the Wise Bird has been monitoring the movement of people in and out of the country.

Seeing particularly those claiming to come and invest into the country, the bird is amazed that little did the government know their intention.

Their intentions are quite different from what they claimed to have come for or registered for?

President Julius Maada Bio has however succeeded in making Sierra Leone a business friendly country.

But the trouble is that, our market liberalization has opened more flood-gates than one would have thought.

The Wise Bird has observed with trepidation that, fly-by night investors are treating ordinary Sierra Leoneans with disdain and callousness simply because job opportunities are very limited in the country.

The Wise Bird has noticed that, some companies are in the habit of hiring and firing workers without having recourse to national and international Labour laws.

Consequently, many of our Sierra Leonean brothers and sisters have been fired from work without salaries and or benefits.

The most disturbing fact is that, some of the companies do not have standard administrative structures.

The bird has been reliably informed that, some companies would even find faults on workers in order to dismiss them un-necessarily because they don’t want to pay their benefits as demanded by our country’s Labour laws.

Some companies have still not honored the government salary pay scale for workers up to date.

The other thing the brave bird has noticed is, some people will come into the country pretending to be investors, but after sometime you see them in the field, mining gold or diamond without even having license to do so.

The Bio administration must beware with such people. Some of them do not have any good intention for the country.

However, the brave animal will strictly monitor the operations of some companies in the country because the appropriate authorities are failing in their duties to caution those who are in the habit of firing workers without benefits given to them and watch also those coming into the country to invest by becoming miners.
