The Mogbwemo Queens, Champions of the Sierra Leone Female Premier League, battled to win a match in the ongoing 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League at the Southern Arana Stadium in Bo city.
In their second match last week Mogbwemo Queens also had a 2-2 draw against Aigles De La Médina from Senegal.
The team needed to win their remaining matches against Liberia team called Determine Girls and Red Scorpions in order to progress to the next stage of the competition in this year’s campaign.
They also draw against AS Mande, the champions of Mali, in a historic and hilarious match. Although AS Mande dominated the first half and had three clear-cut chances, they failed to convert that into a goal.
Mogbwemo Queens on the other hand, intensified their efforts and disrupted AS Mande’s rhythm. Despite having a intense opportunity in the final third of the first half, they were unable to transform.
