Councilor Ibrahim Bangura of Kenema district and Bamba Briwa Moses on Tuesday 1st July 2025 made their second appearance before Magistrate Mary Julian Gbloh of Pademba Road Court No. 5 for an alleged abusive language and malicious damage matter.
They are both standing trial before the court on six count charges ranging from larceny, threatening to kill, common assault, insulting conduct, malicious damage and abusive language all contrary to laws of Sierra Leone.
The indictment states that Councilor Ibrahim Bangura and Bamba Brima Moses on Saturday 7 & 8 June 2025 at Hamilton Junction in Freetown, did steal the sum of twenty five thousand new leones from Abdul Koroma.
The charge sheet further that both accused persons on the same day and place used threatening language to kill complainant Abdul Koroma to wit “we go make sure say we kill you people them.”
The charge sheet furthered that both accused unlawfully assaulted complainant Abdul Koroma and also made use of insulting conduct against the complainant with intent to provoke him to commit a breach of peace.
The charge sheet also indicated that both accused persons maliciously damaged a concrete structure of the complainant valued at fifteen thousand new leones and they also used abusive language on complainant Abdul Koroma.
After the charges were read and explain to the accused persons they pleaded not guilty of the offense.
The prosecutor A. M Koroma sought for an adjournment.
Defense Counsel Jesse Jengo made an application for bail on behalf of both accused persons.
They were each granted fifty thousand Leones bail and one surety each.
The sureties should be resident in Freetown and should produce valid national identification card depicting his or her address in Freetown and
bail to be approved by the Deputy assistant Registrar.
The Matter was adjourned to the 7th July 2025 for hearing.
