Like many other people the most respected animal in this Republic has remained confused for a while now over the demand for Electoral justice by ex-presidential hopeful of the main opposition APC of late creating an impression that he popularly won the controversial June 24, 2023 presidential race. 

The situation is said to have created some amount of tension in the country with aggrieved opposition members demanding answers from the National Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone which the latter has remained adamant to provide.

To have his doubts clear on the topical issue, the patient Bird was at the press conference organized by the Chairman of the All People’s Congress (APC) party Hon. Minkailu Mansaray few days ago aimed at acquainting members of the press about the issue and other matters relating to the smooth running of the party. He was at the press briefing unnoticed though.

In his welcome address, the Chairman was very quick to clear the air that the party’s focus for now is for the 2026 National Delegates Convention.

He declared that, the APC as a party has nothing like “ELECTORAL JUSTICE” in its Constitution. He emphasized that the question of Electoral Justice some members are preaching should not be encouraged, noting that the only thing he, as the party’s National Chairman is aware of is the tripartite agreement which he said the government, the international community and his party signed.

The party Chairman said they will ensure that, the recommendations of that agreement are implemented to the letter.

As usual the bird went out to sound the views of people on the outcome of the conference.

Most of the people he spoke with expressed dismay over what they referred to as visible disunity in the party. They admitted that if the ugly scenario is not addressed to the time of going to the National Delegates Conference slated for 2026 will advertently hinder the party’s chances of bouncing back to power come 2028 altogether.

2026 they said is just around the corner and that if the party fails to put its house in order up to the time of the convention, it will be catastrophic to win the 2028 general elections.

Some other people the bird contacted however expressed optimism that, no matter what, the APC will be victorious come 2028.
