Reporting reaching the Africa24 newspaper has intimated that one Mohamed Bangura, a former resident of Kono, Eastern region of Sierra Leone is currently on the run after he managed to escape a forceful poro society initiation that left him with serious injuries and pains.

Sources have revealed that Mohamed Bangura was attacked in Tombodu, Kono in 1992 to be a member of the secret poro society, a secret society that he has despised and long parted ways with his family members to belong, adding that after he has escaped and found his way to another town, he met some poro society men who also wanted to join him forcefully into the poro society where he fought and escaped again for his life. Sources continued that the poro society men in the whole country declared Mohamed Bangura for destroying their poro bush as they searched for him all-over the four corners of the country but cannot find him.

Reporting reaching us also stated that a year later, around November 1992 news broke out that Mohamed Bangura is alive, hale and hearty, adding that the year that followed, the Poro secret society came in search of Mohamed Bangura at Tombodu in Kono and left behind hot threatening remarks that they will torture Mohamed Bangura or sacrifice him to their secret gods if they set their eyes on him.

Reports continued that in the year 2000 in the capital city of Freetown, a group of secret poro society men visited and attacked one of Mohamed Bangura’s friends at his residence and vandalized his house and properties because of his close relationship with Mohamed Bangura.

Sources continued that another of Mohamed Bangura’s friend, Brima Kamara was taken to the secret poro society bush for the sake of Mohamed Bangura, adding that he died during the initiation process in 2016. And just after the death of his friend, the secret poro society men went again in 2018 in search of Mohamed Bangura stating that they needed his head as sacrifice to their secret gods and left behind again threatening remarks that Mohamed Bangura will be tortured to death.

Sources also confirmed that after Mohamed Bangura has fled from the secret poro society initiation at Tombodu, Kono, he relocated to Freetown. The poro secret society men raided their house in Freetown in search of Mohamed Bangura, they could not see him but took away another friend Alpha Kamara to be forcefully conscripted into the poro bush and resulting into his death.

Africa24 newspaper can authoritatively revealed that sometime in November 2022 hired assassins of the most lethal squad of secret poro members have been deployed in strategic locations across the country to eliminate Mohamed Bangura anywhere he resurfaces in Sierra Leone. This lethal squad vowed to stop at nothing but to kill Mohamed for defying his ancestral belief and by bringing the secret society into ridicule.

Those who are not fortunate like Mohamed Bangura to escape following their refusal to be initiated have all suffered fatal consequences.

A close relative the Africa24 newspaper spoke with on condition of anonymity told this press that due to the desperation of these secret poro members to eliminate Mohamed Bangura at all cost; it is better that he continues to stay in isolation rather than surface anywhere in Sierra Leone as his life is in serious danger.
