In a very strong message to his colleagues, the president of Council of Traditional Herbalist Association in the country Dr. Sheku Tarawallie urged all herbalists in the country to contribute towards the funeral of their late colleague Koramo Muniru who was the former president of SLENTHA.
Those who witnessed the eleven years rebel war and were conversant with the contributions of the Civil Defense Forces (Kamajors) will attest to the fact that the late man gained enormous popularity at that time as one of the initiators of the Kamajor society. For this reason, coupled with many of his contributions towards national development especially in the field of herbalist, Dr. Tarawallie thought it prudent that he deserves befitting funeral, which is why he is urging his colleagues to put all sentiments aside and cooperate unanimously.
The well informed and highly courageous president also dilated on the various factions in the profession, disclosing further that there are about six to eight different factions and are well registered which is why he is very worried about the disunity, adding that it will always negatively impact on all herbalists in the country. The president said he is quite conscious of the significance of the profession to the nation but they will give what they have if all of them come together and work in uniform for which he is pleading to all of his colleagues to reorganize themselves and come to one and fight for what they want. “Together we stand, divided we fall”, he stated. The president also maintained that they are appealing to government for the approval of their Bill that has been in Parliament for quite a long time. He disclosed that, “the SLPP started Herbalist activities in this country during the days of the late President Dr. Alhaji Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, so herbalists expect them to complete the blessing”, he stated.
