Information reaching Africa24 Sport Desk revealed that the Liberian Football Association is trying to sign the Sierra Leone national team head coach, Mohamed Kallon.
Shocking surfaced last week amid calls by Kallon urging the Sierra Leone FA (SLFA) to increase his salary from $10,000 a month to $20,000. According to reports, the SLFA is willing to increase Kallon’s salary to only $15,000. Meanwhile, the Liberian FA is willing to pay the Leone Stars coach $40,000 as head coach of their national team, according to sources.
Kallon holds a UEFA A License in coaching and is seen as a reliable tactician. He was appointed as head coach of the Leone Stars in February this year.
He got his first test in a World Cup Qualifiers in March when his team defeated Guinea-Bissau 3-1 in the Liberian capital, Monrovia. Days later, the team narrowly lost against Egypt in Cairo.
Sierra Leone currently sits in third position with eight points following two wins, two draws, and two losses in six matches.
The Leone Stars will face Guinea-Bissau away on September 1 before hosting Ethiopia the following week.
