Amidst serious financial struggles in the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier League, Coach Flavio Silva has immediate resigned as the head coach of Luawa Football Club (FC), a club competing in the Leone Rock Premier League 2024/25 season.
The manager cited personal reasons for his departure, which came during a challenging period for the team following the end of match week 26 of the league.
In his resignation statement, Silva expressed gratitude to the club’s president and acknowledged the growth of his players.
“For personal reasons, I had to abandon the Luawa FC project. To the president, I express my deepest gratitude for everything he did for me,” Silvia commended the President.
“We’ve done excellent work and will continue to see its impact. One day, I will return. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Silva stated.
During his tenure, he focused on developing the squad and fostering a competitive spirit, leaving behind a legacy of growth at the club.
Meawhile, the club has not yet announced a successor or any immediate plans for the coaching position.
