Within this short period at the helm of affairs of judiciary in Port Loko district, the newly transferred Magistrate to Port Loko district Patrick Fofanah has admirably transformed the judicial system in the district not only to the satisfaction of the inhabitants but his superiors as well.
First, he has been able to change the mindset of the people of Port Loko District in the Northwest region judiciary has over the years positively transformed for which many people now have confidence and trust in, given the fact that they have made sure that justice is served devoid of status or whatever affiliation.
Prior to assuming in the district, locals in Port Loko seemed to have almost lost trust and confidence in the justice system, claiming that cases were unnecessarily delayed and some cases were ruled in favour of those who had influence or money.
However, Magistrate Fofanah has admirably changed the narratives first, by making sure that cases are called as early as eight o’clock and has further increased court sittings to three times a week.
Talking to our reporter, a cross section of business people in Port Loko expressed delight in ongoing impressive transformation in the judicial system in the region under the visionary leadership of Magistrate Patrick Fofanah. They said before the arrival of Magistrate Patrick Fofanah, the region sometimes go for a whole month without court sitting or at times just one sitting per month. They therefore expressed their appreciation to God for sending Magistrate Fofana whom they referred to as savior who has incredibly brought tangible changes in the entire justice system in their region.
As business people, they said they are well please and appreciate Magistrate Fofana because he has made sure that cases are no longer delayed given credence that “justice delayed is justice denied.”
They claimed that prior to the senior Magistrate most of them as business people were advantaged, but thank God the narrative has been changed.
They also showered praises the Police Prosecutor Inspector Sam Foday Bangura for ensuring service delivered justly; adding that he approachable and open to the public.
