Mohamed Lahai, a labourer has been committed to High Court by Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura of Pademba Road court No.8 on a count charge to wit Larceny in a dwelling house contrary to section 13 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on Tuesday 3rd June 2025 at Kroo Bay in the Western Area in Freetown entered the dwelling house of Myteh Koroma and stole therein three aluminum cooking pot all to the total value of one thousand five hundred Leones(1,500) property of Myteh Koroma.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused, no plea taken.
The prosecutor Detective Police Constable 14898 Joseph Lamin Dumbuya led three witnesses in evidence including the formal witness.
Magistrate Samura giving his ruling said that he has read the evidence for the prosecution and he is of the view that he has adduced sufficient evidence to put the accused on trial in the High Court. He therefore committed the matter to the High Court and granted bail to the accused in the sum of ten thousand Leones with one surety in like sum.
Surety should be ordinarily resident in the Western Area surety, should produce valid identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown. Bail to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar.
