Magistrate Samuel Koroma of Pademba Road Court No.4 has on Friday 18 July, 2025 issued a bench warrant for Marwan Malador, Manager of Malador Company Limited for failing to appear before the Court on an alleged fraud matter levied against him.
Malador is before the Court on two count charges of Conspiracy to defraud contrary to law and fraudulent conversion contrary to Section 20 (1) (iv) (a) of the larceny Act of 1916.
The indictment states that, Manager Malador on the 26th August 2024 in Freetown with intent to defraud conspired with other persons unknown to defraud Roseline Fatu Cowan the sum of thirty thousand United States Dollars ($30,000) equivalent to seven hundred and twenty nine thousand new Leones(729,000) entrusted to him by the complainant, Roseline Fatu Cowan for the purpose of travelling to the United States of America.
When the matter was mentioned by counsel representing the complainant Ibrahim S.Y Kamara, the defendant Marwan Malador was absent in court.
Counsel Kamara applied for bench warrant against Malador.
He further stated that Malador was served with the indictment and he is aware that he should be in court, but he is unavoidable absent in court.
Magistrate Koroma granted the application made by Lawyer Kamara.
He therefore issued bench warrant against Marwan Malador for him to be arrested and brought before the Court.
The matter comes up on the 22nd July 2025 for hearing.
