The wise bird has been very much unhappy since he heard the news of the untimely death of his colleague Journalist Samuel Mattia few months ago.
What pains him most is that the act was orchestrated and perpetrated by another but heartless and colleagues.
After the ugly incident, an investigation was immediately conducted by the police and it was discovered that, the Station Manager of Voice of Peace and Development (VOPAD) Radio Station in Kissi-Town, Waterloo where the deceased worked as deputy Station Manager conspired with others to murder him.
The bird wept endlessly when he was told about the young man’s demise. It’s really unimaginable as it deeply touches the heart of the oldest animal in this republic who considers the untimely demise of his colleague as not only an irreparable loss to his family but the entire media community across the country.
Mattia is gone, but we will always remember him as one of the country’s finest and hardworking journalists whose dedication and commitment to work made him an enviable character in his office.
May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
Nobody could imagine or bear the terrible act of his heartless killers especially his former boss, Joseph Mendel Lamin (Station Manager).
Meanwhile, the brave bird has been following the matter with keen interest up to court level, where Joseph Mendel Lamin (Station Manager) and his cohorts, Morlai Kamara another journalist and Umaru Timbo a commercial bike-rider are facing two charges of conspiracy to commit murder contrary to section 4 of the Offenses against the Persons Act of 1861, and murder contrary to section 1 of the same Act.
So far, Bra Parrot is pleased with the way the matter is being handled as the no none-sense Magistrate, Sahr Kekura denied the accused bail during their maiden appearance and ordered them to be remanded.
The patriotic bird left the court room in joyous mood with fervent hope that justice will be served for his late innocent brother and colleague.
Even though it is a big loss to the family and journalism landscape, but the bird knows the late man’s family will be pleased to see that the law is taking the right course.
After the first court proceedings, the dejected bird spoke to one of the family members, who described the death as a big loss, insisting however that it is the will of God.
The bird has no doubt that the law will continue to take its course to the fullest throughout the matter.
