Being a patriot himself, the wise bird always appreciates people, individuals or organizations that follow his footsteps.

It’s against this background the bird wants to express his gratitude to one of the humanitarian organizations that always identifies itself with the people of this nation without boundary.

Even though the wise bird was not invited at the handing-over ceremony between the outgoing and the incoming National Executive of the country’s media umbrella body the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), he quietly sneaked into the event to get the gist of what was going on.

Behold, it was SLAJ through its  very magnanimity that was presenting a certificate of appreciation to Pee-Cee and Sons in recognition of the company’s unwavering support to journalists and journalism as a whole during the official handing over from old to the new national executive.

Pee-Cee and Sons is a household name in business and importantly for its humanitarian activities in country.

Its humanitarian and other development activities including donation of food and non-food items to the needy, organizations, Muslims and Christians, spanned over 50 years ago.

SLAJ and individuals and civil society organizations are undeniably huge beneficiaries from Pee-Cee and Sons’ humanitarian gestures.

The company used to donate foods to Muslims especially during the holy month of Ramadan countrywide.

In addition to its humanitarian activities, Pee & Sons is also known for importing quality products and sells them at cheaper cost to ensure that everyone including the least earner can afford it.

Receiving the prestigious gift from the journalist organization, the General-Manager of Pee-Cee and Sons Mr. Rajesh Henani expressed thanks and gratitude to SLAJ for the recognition and assured his company’s continued commitment to national development.

“We are deeply honored to have received the award and we believe that a vibrant independent media is always crucial for national development, transparency and good governance,” the manager added.

He further emphasized that the company’s support for the media is a reflection of its broader corporate social responsibility in the country, emphasizing that supporting the media is their way of giving back to society.
