The most respected animal has been following with keen interest the political struggle in the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party regarding the battle for the flag-bearer position.

The bird has noticed of late that fliers and hand-bills of flag bearer aspirants who will eventually would be leader of the party are everywhere in the streets of Freetown and in the provinces.

In order to cool-down the tension of those aspiring to become leader of the party, the National deputy Chairman of APC, Amb. Alhaji Osman Foday Yansanneh, has informed all members, supporters and sympathizers that as of now, the party does not recognize any individual as a flag-bearer aspirant.

He made this remarks in Port Loko city, when he was addressing party members, supporters and sympathizers.

He said at the moment, no individual is referred to as APC flag-bearer aspirant.

Meanwhile, Amb. Yansanneh has called on members, supporters and sympathizers to fully take part in the December 2026 housing and population census.

He added that the APC as a party will create a level playing field for all candidates in the coming lower level elections and the National Delegates Conference.

Amb. Yansanneh also called on all members to continue to market the APC and to take part effectively in all the party activities.

The bird went to get the views of people in respect of the mad rush for flag bearer position which has created tensions in the party, almost all those he came in contact with, expressed dismay over those aspiring for the position.

They said a time like this; the primary focus should be to unite the party.

On the issue of Chief Sam-Sumana legal status, the situation is getting deeper and deeper at every tick of the clock as it has remained on resolved.

Few days ago, the bird saw on social media an alleged membership card of the former VP with error on it being an Honorary-Foundation member but registered in July, 2023.

But how could that be, remained a million dollar question for the Parrot.

The present tension in the party will have negative effect on the 2028 elections if not address swiftly with matter of urgency.
