The development oriented partner and philanthropist, Dr. Roland Turay, on last Friday 4th October, 2024 extended his humanitarian strides to the people of Maboroba in the Karene Section, Biriwa Chiefdom, Bombali District.
He donated items included bags of cement for the construction of the Alhadi Islamic Junior Secondary school, Maboroba.
The philanthropist icon also promised to donate solar lights, construct a water borehole, empower ten (10) youth through a skill training programme,Hernia operations on twenty (20) patients and fifteen (15) people with eye sight problems.
Delivering a brief speech at the donation ceremony in Maboroba Village, Dr. Roland Turay expressed empathy for the people of Maboroba whom he said have not been part of any development in Bombali District.
He described Maboroba as a very unique and peaceful environment worth of enjoying some basic facilities like their neighbouring villages.
“I want to bring to Maboroba people joy and development so that my people will boast of living a better life,” the philanthropist said.
He further disclosed that, Maboroba is now his second home.
He underscored the importance of education pointing out that to develop many parts in the country is of help to Sierra Leoneans.
The development of Dr. Roland Turay in the district include among others the construction of a Primary and Secondary school in Mankineh village, a clinic and a bridge linking many villages together in Bombali Sharry Chiefdom.
He is also regarded by the indigenes in the Bombali District for his immense development strides in the chiefdom.
Some of which are the construction of many attractive beaches such as the “Roland Beach” at Konta in Bombali Shebora Chiefdom and an another at Madokor in Ngowahun Chiefdom.
Dr. Roland has carried out medical operations on scores of people helping in treating out diverse diseases with people from various villages and has been giving them cash as his donations to many needy other people including school pupils and university students.
Last year, the philanthropist also donated a consignment of bags of cement to the School of Clinical Science in Makeni to help the college with the construction of an additional block in the campus.
The latest donation at Maboroba was climaxed with traditional fanfare in a typical Mandingo culture involving the chiefs and women chatting “Dr Roland Turay our saviour”.
