South Africa female national team has suffered a sad defeat to Nigeria senior female squad who are commonly called Super Falcons in a thrilling 2-1 win in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) semifinal last week Tuesday.
The win assured their spot in the final, which also preserved their chances for a record-extending 10th continental cup.
The game featured show performances from Rasheedat Ajibade and Michelle Alozie, who scored pivotal goals that helped the Super Falcons to avenge their 2022 loss to Banyana Banyana, thus reaffirming Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football.
South African opened the scoring with great show.
Nigeria in the first-half controlled the pace of the game with a disciplined defence with Alozie and Ihezuo seen as a threat.
