Salone senior Women’s Cricket Team is making waves in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Division 2 Africa Qualifier.
They have secured three consecutive wins, including a recent victory against host Botswana by 5 wickets.
Their campaign has kick-started with a commanding 77-run victory over Mozambique, thus setting a strong precedent for their performance in Gaborone, Botswana.
Sierra Leone’s opening batters, Emma Kamara and Captain Aminata Kamara, was remarkable.
Kamara was particularly outstanding, scoring 71 runs off 60 balls, supported by significant contributions from Marie Turay and Celina Bull. The team finished with an impressive total of 190 runs for six wickets in 20 overs.
In response, they managed to reach the only 41 runs for eight wickets, resulting in a decisive 149-run victory for Sierra Leone. Kamara’s exceptional performance has earned her the Player of the Match accolade.
Meanwhile, the team is now set to face more challenges as they aim to maintain their amazing show in the competition.
Ann Marie Kamara has expressed joy over their victory.
