For a very long time, the wise bird has been following the protracted land dispute between one Mr. Joseph Musa and family of Fornima, Goderich and a certain Mr. Moses Sendor a worker at the Ministry Lands, Housing and Country Planning.
Following a legal battle on this matter for five or more years, justice has finally been served as the High Court of Sierra Leone presided over by Honorable Justice Adrian Fisher, has gave ruling on the matter in favour of the Musa family, whilst ordering the demolition of all illegal structures including a shop and entertainment center on a 14.8 foot access road leading to the Musa’s property, reportedly built by Moses Sendor, a worker at the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning.
The Parrot has reliably been informed that, Justice Fisher in February 2024 ruled that there was no legal basis for Mr. Sendor’s claim to the additional land.
In his wisdom, Honorable Justice Adrian Fisher has also ordered the removal of all structures encroaching on the Musa’s property and also ordered Moses to pay the sum of NLe70,000 in damage and NLe 50,000 in legal cost to the affected family.
Furthermore, a follow-up ruling was handed down in February 2025, by Honorable Justice Fisher, denying Sendor’s request for a stay of execution, dismissing financial hardship as a valid reason for further delay.
However, it was clear that, the Musa family ultimately financed the demolition themselves, paying the sum of NLe40,000 to MLHCP officials who carried out the court’s order.
Bra Parrot has also gathered that, the land in question was originally acquired by the Musa family in May 1998.
However, the demolition has already been carried out as per court orders.
The Patriotic animal has viewed this development as law taking its course, insisting that the law must always be respected.
The wise bird has all the respect for the Honorable Justice Fisher, because he is a no-nonsense person, given that he always calls things by their proper names without fear or favour just like the wise bird.
