The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has unveiled about 160 motorbikes at the SLFA Academy on November 7, 2024.
They aim at supporting football managers/administrators of the sporting disciplines across the 16 districts in the country.
Following the presentation of the bikes, SLFA President Thomas Daddy Brima and his team had earlier pledged to address transportation challenges within football, promising to acquiring 160 motorbikes and eight buses.
“Two buses are already in the country, with the remaining vehicles expected by the end of the year,” Brima spoke while emphasizing the importance of transport devices in connecting communities, thus fostering social integration, and promoting good public health messaging and assistance.
The motorbikes would help reduce the logistical challenges and enable administrators to manage football activities more effectively especially in very remote areas.
Brima stressed that transport systems are vital to the success of sporting events as they seek to drive economic growth, and promote national unity.
The SLFA’s ongoing investments in infrastructure aims to support a vibrant football culture and improves community engagement across the country.
