The Vice President Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has told councilllors and ministers this morning on ways to promote the local governance in the country.

He spoke at an Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on decentralization and local governance meeting which took place at the City Hall that “ a working group will be established to follow through and to  oversee the effective implementation of the outcome of the Inter Ministerial Committee meeting including on implementing a Fiscal Decentralization Policy.

The Vice President who chairs the IMC further revealed that amongst other things a request will be made to  Ministry of Finance to consider supporting the 22 councils with vehicles and capital grants to bolster their effectiveness in delivering quality services in the country.
