Sierra Leone Under-17 national football team, better known as the Sierra Stars are set to introduce their young talents in the upcoming WAFU-A U-17 AFCON Qualifiers in Senegal. The 25-member delegation, including 20 players and five officials, departed from Sierra Leone last Tuesday, traveling through Guinea route to Senegal.
Led by Chairman Brima Jalloh (BJ),says the team is set to cupboard their skills on the regional stage, with the tournament slated to run from October 30 to November 3, 2024.
Head Coach John Dominic Konneh, uttered optimism ahead of the competition assumed soccer fans and followers that, with a confident backroom staff behind him. He aims to deliver a significant performance for Sierra Leone.
Sierra Stars are placed in Group B, where they will face tough opponents including Mali, Mauritania, and Guinea-Bissau.
The host nation Senegal is grouped with Liberia, Guinea, and The Gambia in Group A and despite the challenges of traveling by road the team is ambitious to deliver strongly.
