What makes any story to be credible and factual is if it is well sourced. It must be checked and cross checked to make sure that it is well balanced.
Couple of weeks ago, social media was awash with fake and fabricated stories deliberately targeting the Director of Traffic Commissioner, Abdul Moijueh not only to smear his name but to entirely destroy his hard won reputation.
But such nefarious act did not come as a surprise at all because it has become a commonplace in Sierra Leone where people are quick to point accusing fingers at those they envy when things go wrong. Why did these evil doers tried to unnecessarily rope Commissioner Moijue’s name into something he doesn’t know about or crime he didn’t commitment?
Like Commissioner, many others have become victims of such unfortunate circumstances with their destroyers finding pleasure in their dubious acts.
From what I know, this young officer has made name for himself in the Sierra Leone Police through hard work, dedication and commitment. He always makes sure his work comes first before self which undeniably made him to gain his present promotion as Director of Traffic.
As hard working and visionary leader, he has already left an indelible mark in the traffic department. He has injected into discipline into unit that once lacked public trust and confidence. Through hard work and selfless sacrifice, the Director has been able to succeed where others failed particularly the decongestion of Center Business District of commercial motorbike riders and street trading. It has become a true success story.
Furthermore, it is clear that one can now see a total cleanup of the streets and roads in the Freetown municipality which in the past was invested with illegal garages and abandoned vehicles.
With his self-sacrifice, and the unwavering support he continued to receive from the no-nonsense Inspector General of Police, William Fayia Sellu, the streets have been cleared as police tow vehicle is always in action to collect abandoned vehicles and fines paid into the consolidated fund.
It is time we desist from destroying patriotic and hardworking people who are working tirelessly to contribute to the development of this nation for the benefit and betterment of all Sierra Leoneans. We need not kill the geese that lay the golden egg.
Since Director Moijueh has been made head of traffic, the Africa24 has been following development of the traffic.
It is always good for journalists to cross check information to have a credible and well balanced report, otherwise good and people who mean well for this country will be discouraged or destroyed and Sierra Leone will remain backward.
It is time to encourage hard working and dedicated Sierra Leoneans that mean well for mother Sierra Leone. It’s time to stop ‘The Pull Him Down Syndrome’ and try to give praise to whom praise is due.
It is time we learn to put records straight and stop misleading information that will destroy the good reputation of well-meaning Sierra Leoneans
