The wise bird has been studying the political situation in the country for quite some time now, where the incumbent always has the upper hand  over the main opposition and other political parties during electoral period.

In 2023 the people of Sierra Leone experienced an election that was widely condemned by both local and international observers and the world at large.

The election up to date is still considered to be controversial and lacks credibility and the main opposition up to the time of going to press did not accept its outcome.

The bird has also noticed that the opposition has been boycotting parliamentary sittings to show their   dissatisfaction about the outcome of the election and the way senior members of the SLPP party have been treating other political parties in the country.

Very recently, the opposition walked out or rather refused to attend parliamentary sittings, claiming that the clerk of parliament cannot be vying for political party position and still holding on to the position of clerk of parliament.

The bird spoke to few members of the opposition who said it will not be business as usual where after election counting is ongoing and automatically results are announced to the disadvantage of other political parties.

They further explained to the bird that it is time to go to past-the-post electoral system that is best for this country.

They went on to say that the they will no longer silent in whatever situation and that democracy can only survive when people participate fully and will hold their leaders accountable in the process.

They further accused the incumbent of manipulating democracy which according to them is not good in any democratic dispensation.

It is now time for the APC and all other political parties to face the people for proper accountability.

In fact most of the people did not know their representatives in parliament because of the PR system of government.

The Sierra Leone people’s Party (SLPP) wanted the PR system of government simply because they knew it is only the system that will make the party has majority in parliament after manipulating the electoral process to their advantage.

The bird will be watching how things will be unfolding come 2028
