The Parliamentary Leader of government business in Parliament, Hon Matthew Sahr Nyuma, has recently made mockery of Ernest Bai Koroma who is presently staying in Nigeria on medical grounds.
“I will soon join Ernest Bai Koroma in Nigeria,” he said wittingly.
Hon Matthew Nyuma made the mockery stement on Tuesday 4th June 2024 during the approval of Presidential nominees in the Chambers of Parliament.
The Hon Matthew Nyuma repeatedly displayed what many perceived as ‘putting extra-energy’ in provoking former President Koroma for his stay in Nigeria.
It could be recalled that former President Koroma was repatriated to Nigeria for medication and he is still seeking medical treatment there.
Former President Koroma was charged for treason due to what a court has said for his involvement in the November 26 failed coup.
The ECOWAS intervention was the reason for the former President to be relocated in Nigeria.
The Speaker of Parliament, Hon Sengepoh Solomon Thomas cautioned the Leader of Government Business not to thread in dangerous way when making his submissions and was asked to confide his discussions to the approval of the nominees for which he accepted.
