[Shell, Freetown, 17, December 2023] – In a heartwarming display of compassion and community support, the Sierra Leone Malayalee Association (SILMA) made a charitable visit to the Mother Teresa Home in Shell, Freetown. This visit marked a significant effort by SILMA to contribute to the welfare of the residents, showcasing the organization’s commitment to aiding those in need.
The visit to the Mother Teresa Home saw office bearers and members of SILMA actively engaging in acts of kindness and support for the in-house patients. The association generously donated a good supply of cleaning and food items, aiming to assist in ensuring a clean and nurturing environment for the residents. SILMA appreciate the strength and resilience of these young mothers, children and others who reside in this home. Despite facing challenges, they remain unwavering, welcoming SILMA members by singing and clapping – teaching lessons in courage and determination every day.
SILMA’s initiative reflects its dedication to serving the community and upholding the values of compassion and empathy. The contributions made by SILMA not only provide immediate assistance but also signify a broader commitment to social responsibility and supporting vulnerable individuals within the community.

The Mother Teresa Home in Shell, Freetown, provides essential care and support to individuals in need, single mothers, TB and HIV patients, embodying the spirit of selfless service championed by its namesake, Mother Teresa.
