Ahead of the new academic year, Hon. Mohamed Papa Bangura, founder of Access to Education Sierra Leone (AESL) has helped about 100 schools – children in communities in Bombali district, north of Sierra Leone.
AESL’s organization was established in 2015, and its founder said the organization continues on its mission to enhance educational opportunities for some underserved students.
The aid package is valued at over 100 million old Leones, and it includes essential items such as school uniforms, bags, shoes, books, pens, geometry sets, socks, and among others.
Among the beneficiaries of the package is Mariatu Kargbo.
Mariatu expresses heartfelt appreciation, noting that since losing her parents to Ebola in 2016, she had been receiving vital support from the philanthropist Bangura.
Another beneficiary Kadiatu Kamara, who comes from a family of six, remarked that without the aid from Access to Education Sierra Leone, she would have likely dropped out of school due to her family’s financial difficulties.
“I am happy for Hon. Papa Bangura’s assistance towards me,” said Kadiatu.
