At the SLPP office on Friday 25th July 2025, Jimmy Batillo Songa has demonstrated that the survival of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) into power come 2028 elections rest on his soldiers.
Thousands of supporters and sympathizers including delegates and stakeholders throng into the party office in demonstration of his not only as popular candidate, but showcase his might which will be evident in the ballot box come 2028 general elections.
The massive show of support also demonstrated as a political strategist that determine the fate of the party in any elections outcomes.
Songa have also been considered by thousands as a leading aspirant for the position of National Chairman of the governing Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), endorsed by the entire delegates and stalwarts nationwide.
As the most favourite aspirant for the SLPP National Chairman, Jimmy Batilo Songa received a rapturous massive endorsement in most of the sixteen districts delegates where he launched his manifesto campaign amidst pomp and pageantry, including Kambia, Port Loko, Pujehun, Kailahun, Kenema, Tonkolili, Falaba, Karene, amongst other districts.
During his declaration at the party office in Freetown, loyal party delegates poured in from the nook and cranny of the Western Area and all regions with one clear message: “Jimmy Batilo Songa is our hero and fittest for the National Chairman of our great SLPP political party.”
Cheers echoed through the halls and open grounds Walace Johnson Street where banners fluttered and drums beat out a steady rhythm of unity and assurance.
Delegates, young and old, clasped hands and shared bold promises of solidarity, each voice adding to a rising chorus of confidence in the party’s next chapter.
In his eloquent and outstanding speech delivery, Batillo Songa spoke on the welfare of SLPP grassroots supporters.
He assured supporters and SLPP executives from ward, constituency, districts and regional as well as National levels of strong collaboration as well as continue to hold on to power and placed the APC into permanent opposition.
Batillo Songa said with him as Chairman the road to victory is always assured, stating that strategies have been formulated to help those that help the party to come to power.
He placed emphasis on the need to strength policy within the party for the benefit of the grassroots supporters.
“Micro credit, support for farmers and all those who cannot fend for themselves will be catered for. My chairmanship will be an open door with continued support the organs of the party. A registration of all SLPP members will be implemented so as to know the strength of the party by districts or regional levels” he assured.
He therefore solicit the support of all stakeholders especially delegates districts by districts, regions by regions.
