The Sierra Leone Correctional Service (SLCS) in adherence to an administrative notice, embarked on cleaning exercise including the inspection of the Prison Barracks on 7th June, 2025 in Freetown led by the Director General Mr. Joseph J. Senesie.

He said it will also guarantee and foster all aspects of good health, both mental and physical, insisting that having a clean environment promotes a conducive atmosphere and happy surroundings.
Senessie described the cleaning exercise as multipurpose and successful, adding that the inspection of the barracks was to figure out illegal activities like construction of makeshift and brick structures, shops/business entities and garages.

He further sent an official invitation to the encroached residents of the Correctional barracks for an administrative action and ordered the Director of Regional Services to do business assessment value on all business entities owned by both officers and civilians for official administrative engagement.
- Senessie also summoned all officers that have erected structures in these places for administrative dialogue and asked occupants to give a uniform painting (yellow and green) to all blocks in the barracks.
With such measures being pronounced, DG said he is of the belief that SLCS will make an indelible mark in achieving the betterment and success of the institution.
