Kumba Zainab Brima, the Sierra Leonean international, has secured her first league championship victory with Riga FC Women in the Latvian Women’s Championship, marking a new milestone in her professional football journey.
Brima joined Riga FC in June 2025 after a record-breaking season with FC Kallon female in the Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League, where she emerged as the league’s top scorer with 39 goals in the 2023/24 season.
Her transition to European football has been nothing short of remarkable, scoring multiple hat-tricks and delivering key performances that helped Riga FC Women secure the league title.
Her postive impact was also felt in continental competition, where she scored four goals in her UEFA Women’s Champions League debut against Flora Tallinn, announcing her arrival on the European stage.
Speaking after the team’s league triumph, her agent, Chernor Musa Jalloh, expressed his pride and admiration for the young star.
“I’m beyond thrilled for Kumba. Her journey from Sierra Leone to this pinnacle of success is truly inspiring. She’s broken barriers and paved the way for young female footballers back home and around the world. From grass to grace she’s proof that dreams do come true.”
Kumba Brima’s triumph adds to the growing list of Sierra Leonean players making their mark on the international stage, according to her coach.
