The Wise Bird always deals with issues of national interests that are more the reason the bird is so loved by the people of Sierra Leone.

The brave bird is not a member of any of the political parties in the country but it has interest in parties’ activities.

Over the week-end, the bird was at the Sierra Leone People’s party (SLPP) on Wallace Johnson Street, Freetown, to listen to what the President Dr. Julius Maada Bio wished to tell his party supporters.

The President was very quick to notice what was going on in the party particularly on way people are campaigning ahead of the stipulated timeline for the position of Flag- bearer in the party.

He was quick to nip everything on the bud before it will be too late.

As the President was addressing members of the National Executive Council (NEC) at the party office on Wallace Johnson Street, Freetown, he did not waste time to hit the nail on the head but said no member of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) should be allowed to campaign for the 2028 Flag-bearer position.

The brave bird also overheard the President saying any member who challenges or flouts his authority would either be suspended or face expulsion from the party. He however encouraged the entire membership of the party to focus on how to achieve the “Big Five Game Changer Initiative” as he puts it.

President Bio went further to SAY that, with party members focusing on Presidential campaign race, it will derail the party’s government agenda.

He further disclosed that he has noticed campaigns for the Presidential Flag-bearer position for SLPP.

And that the race had long begun by some senior members of the party who according to him had already expressed interest for the top position in the party.

President Bio however, cited few names which include; Alie Kabbah, Hon. Musa Tarawally, Hon. Sidi Tunis and Dr. David Moinina Sengeh to name but a few.

The bird as usual contacted few members of the SLPP, and all those the bird contacted are in full support of President Bio’s action to stop the presidential campaign now.

A very senior member of the SLPP who spoke to the bird said the people are beating the gun, adding that this is a time to build the party for 2028.

“I am in full support of President Bio’s decision to put a stop to all those campaigning now,” he concluded.

A strong woman in the SLPP (name withheld) said President Bio actually hit the nail correctly on the head as he talked on the interest of the party.
