The only thing some people will say about the wise bird is that, the bird talks too much but they will never say the fearless, patriotic and uncompromising bird has told ever lies.
It is not common for anyone to be loved in totality, for those who love the wise bird ‘God bless you’ and for those who do not love the brave bird; I wish you all well.
The wise bird is a visionary, he saw it all coming- the black-out, hardship, lack of accountability and transparency you name them.
The brave bird will never let the people of this country down by way of not giving them vital information.
The wise bird will always keep up to what he has promised the people of this country as long as the issue is of national interest.
The wise bird is still turning the pages of the Audit Report of 2022; the uncompromising bird turned to page 196 of the report and he saw a caption titled ‘NATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATION AUTHORITY’-2022, with a sub-heading captioned as Payment to National Development.
According to the report, the Authority is said to have purportedly paid the sum of SLE 2,907,575,900 and SLE 1,589,073 in 2020 and 2021to support national development.
The report went further to say that, the Audit team did not understand the basis upon which the payment was made as what they did never fall within the normal operations of the Commission.
Plus or minus, the wise bird will say without hesitation that, the National Telecommunication Authority is to account for SLE 2,909,164,973.
The wise bird wasted no time to turn to page 197 of the report with the caption: National Disaster Management Agency-2022, and in that the wise bird noticed that, the Agency has not been functioning since it was established the report stated, no minutes of meetings held, and no attendance list, according to the report.
The problem the wise bird has with some of the agencies set-up by government is that, they only receive salaries at the end of the month, without doing anything.
The question the wise bird is asking is that, what type of disaster are they managing? Fire is all-over the city; flooding is nothing to write home about.
The government should have a re-think as to whether some of these agencies worth their salt, to me (the wise bird) it is just a waste of public funds.
