Politics of Masumgbala Chiefdom in the Kambia District has taken different turn, from politics of deceit to politics of real development trajectory.
On Friday 20th June 2025, the Member of Parliament from that Chiefdom, who doubles as the Chief Whip of the opposition, Hon Abdul Karim Kamara put smiles on the faces of his constituents with the provision of 25 solar energy panels aimed at ensuring that the over 100 years of darkness his community had endured become a thing of the past.
The 25 energy lights were donated to the Mosques in Kawula village and its surroundings to assist help religious houses to have electricity.
During the handing over of the panels to the Kawula Masjid Mosque, Hon. AKK stressed that development should not be limited to the cities and big towns only but should be cascaded to the rest of other communities across the country devoid of status, political affiliation or religion.
The MP, as a fervent Christian, urged Muslim colleagues to always pray for Sierra Leone, stating that under this regime development has been very slow and claimed that the people of Masumgbala Chiefdom have been abandoned.
He told his people to focus on development this time around, and to stop bragging for people who convinced them to vote them but have now abandoned them.
According to the Chief Whip, the items will help alleviate their perpetual darkness problem they have suffered for far too long.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the opposition APC, Lansana Dumbuya applauded Hon. AKK for working tirelessly to make the lives of his constituents improved.
He also urged the Muslim congregation of Kawula Mosque to use the gesture for its intended purpose.
Receiving the 25 solar panels the Imam of Kawula Mosque, Pa Sesay expressed gratitude to Hon. AKK and entourage for the help, stressing that the solar panels will immensely help to address their long standing sufferings.
He therefore offered special prayers for the team and urged for peace and cohesiveness in the APC and the country in general.
