The Well has summoned Services School and Chief of Defence in a land dispute.
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh, has ordered the Clerk of Parliament to summon authorities over a land matter.
They include the Chief of Defence Staff, senior military cadre and authorities of the Services Secondary School.
The summon is as a result of the Services School land dispute between the school and the army.
Deputy Leader of Opposition, Hon. Daniel Koroma alluded that if swift measures are not taken, the said land dispute will escalate into a chaos.
Hon. Koroma said President Bio’s was campaigning on a platform to strengthen human capital development and free quality education in the country.
He said if school authorities are claiming ownership of the said land, there should be every need for Parliament to swiftly intervene and settle the dispute at once.
Hon. Koroma emphasized the need for Parliament to act tough in ensuring that the Committees of Defence, education and lands summon out appropriate authorities to answer questions relating to the said land saga.
He pointed out how the said dispute would affect Services School teaching.
Making his submissions, the Deputy Leader of Government Business, Hon. Bashiru Silikie urged the Speaker of Parliament to summon all the line ministries in the hearing.
He said the committees investigating the dispute should be given a timeline to conclude the matter and submit to Parliament the findings for action to be taken.
The Speaker has constituted the committees to investigate the saga and prefer recommendations to the Well of Parliament.
