Due to procedural irregularities, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Electoral Appeals Committee has annulled the Falaba District Football Association (FDFA) executive elections, initially slated for last June, citing serious technical breaches.
The decision follows an official appeal lodged by Mr. Balla Kargbo, Acting Chairman of the FDFA, who reported violations of electoral and ethical standards. Under the leadership of M.C.L. Stronge Esq., the Appeals Committee found that the list of delegates was published without the consent or knowledge of the FDFA Executive, a direct violation of Articles 62(3), 66(1), and 66(2) of the 2019 SLFA Statute, as well as Article 1 of the 2012 Electoral Code and Articles 15 and 16 of the 2020 Ethics Code.
The Committee concluded that the irregularities compromised the transparency, fairness, and democratic integrity of the electoral process.
SLFA Electoral Committee is now mandated to organize fresh elections for both Falaba and Karene District Football Associations not later than July 10, 2025.
