For involving into gay activities, Police Declares Ibrahim Mansaray wanted
Since the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) came to power in 2018, they’re still setting very bad precedents but to their own detriment.
The Wise Bird only hopes that their bad precedents will not hunt them tomorrow after they will have left power.
The number of bad precedents the SLPP have set is more than the good ones.
In the last Parliament, for example, the Speaker was imposed on colleague members to serve in such capacity unconstitutionally and the propositional Representation (PR) was imposed on the people while the Commission of Inquiry (COI) was not properly instituted and ten(10) members removed from Parliament after being petitioned and many more instances, still are shinning examples of very bad precedents set.
The Wise Bird will say without hesitation that there is nothing wrong in binging back Hon. Paran into the system as we have been told. This is because as a Bo school almamater, he is supposed to be part of this government.
However, the fact of the matter is Hon. Paran was allegedly found guilty of being a corrupt fellow as he was set aside for proper investigation few months ago.
The investigation did show that he was guilty of wrongfully employing his wife in the same office he works.
According to the Wise Bird, nothing is wrong in employing one’s wife to work with him in the same office, but the method what was believed to be completely wrong.
Hon. Paran’s case was the first to be referred to the President for him to take a fair decision as head of state (the bird stands to be corrected).
The Wise Bird has noticed that the SLPP have been doing things out of the way to satisfy their party members.
Bringing Hon. Umar Paran Tarawally to his former position is the problem with the bird as it stands to be a very bad precedent being set.
The Wise Bird has noticed that the ACC investigated Paran for allegations of corruption but nothing ever came out of the said investigations; instead after the investigations the matter was referred to the President for action to be taken, something that sounds very ironical.
The bird also noticed that the other critical part of the investigations was that the verification of the documents regarding Mrs. Tarawally’s employment which was another bone of contention.
The bird is not against any man who’s employing his wife to work in the same office he is working – – nothing is wrong about this – the only thing about Paran and wife, was the method in which his wife was employed and she was reportedly not going to the office to work for months.
The other problem the bird has in mind is that Hon. Paran should have been sent to another office to work in his renewal contract since the President has all the powers to bring him back in the public purse.
But for him to have been employed in another office to avoid setting a bad precedent would have been a wise and ethical thought choice.
The question the Wise Bird wants to ask is that if Paran was not found wanting, at all, why was he suspended and set aside.
Bringing back Hon. Paran to the same office is sending an ugly signal to the public and the world at large.
The Wise Bird is warning the government in stopping in giving births to similar bad precedents highlighted above. Otherwise democracy smells rotten in this part of the world.
