As the Audit report on the accounts of Sierra Leone for Financial Year 2021 is still in the public domain, the brave bird, Bra Parrot will never fear or panic to turn the pages of the report on the basis that the brave bird will never be arrested for telling the truth, as the brave bird has never told any lies.
The brave bird was very quick to turn to page 95 of the audit report where the bird saw a sub-heading title “Assessment of Service Delivery”, Bra Parrot noticed that the Primary Healthcare in Kenema and Kailahun are not taken and treated with any seriousness in the health sector.
Bra Parrot noticed that in Kenema, quarterly drug supplies were not received on time from the Central Medical Store through the District Medical Store for delivery to the various Peripheral Health Units.
The report revealed that Kenema is constrained with medical ambulance facilities for referral cases. And the witty Bra Parrot noticed from the report that the Peripheral Health Units (PHUs) across the district ran out of supply of essential drugs.
The brave bird noticed again that the PHUs lack medical equipment such as scales, laboratory facilities and other essential medical services and equipment in delivering adequate healthcare services to patients.
Bra Parrot observed with close imagination that the same system applies to all other districts including the great Kailahun.
Bra Parrot, a lover of ‘Mama Salone’, will continue turning the pages of the 2021 Audit report at all times.
