17yrs old, Mohamed Kabia, who is a farmer, has made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.2 in Freetown.
He was standing on a count of committing larceny contrary to laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the particulars of offence on Friday 13th September 2024 at the Royal Ark foreign exchange bureau at Ogoo farm in the Western area in Freetown did steal the sum of fifty three thousand Leones(53,000) and one Tecno Spark 20 mobile phone valued at two thousand seven hundred Leones all to the total value of fifty five thousand seven hundred Leones(55,700) as property of Royal Ark foreign exchange Bureau.
The properties were in custody of Philip Bockarie Kamara.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor Deputy Superintendent of police Sorie Conteh was the lead prosecution witness number one.
While Philip Bockarie Kamara says he resides at Upper tengbeh Town Freetown.
He said he came to know the accused person at his workplace.
And he recalled on the 13th September 2024 he was on when the cleaner arrived he told him that they wanted to clean his outlet.
He had to respond that the office was clean and not dirty.
When he left he was feeling pain on his stomach and so after taking medicine he bowed and slept off. When he woke up, he did not find his office phone and the money.
He went out he saw the accused and the cleaner and asked them about the money but they said they knew nothing about it.
He asked one F.A who does orange money transfer.
The accused was asked and police came and interviewed him, searched his house but did not find anything.
The accused was later arrested and brought to the police station.
The accused was not legally represented and was cross examined.
Meanwhile Magistrate Bangura adjourned the matter to 6th January 2024 bail continue for the accused person.
