Two India natives Prakash Ramrakhyans and Sindhi Chamantall made their first appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on a count charge to wit obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence, on Wednesday 17th September 2025 at Majestic Travel and Tours Airline office at #15 Siaka Stevens Street in the western area of Freetown, with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of two hundred and forty three thousand eight hundred and six leones (243,806) equivalent to ten thousand one hundred and sixty United States dollars from Ibrahim Koroma by falsely pretending that he will provide six air tickets on board ASKY Airline to and from the Republic of the Gambia for the Chief Justice Komba Kamanda of Sierra Leone and five other judges of Sierra Leone knowing same to be false.

After the charge was read and explained to the defendants, they pleaded guilty.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Jah refused bail and sent the defendants to the male correctional facility in Freetown for record and sentence and matter adjourned to 30th September 2025.
