Three labourers , thirty years old Abass Sesay, nineteen years old Abdulai Sesay and seventeen years old Foday Kamara made their first appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road court No.2 in Freetown on five count charges to wit wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, malicious damage and throwing missiles contrary to section 6 of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965 and carrying offensive weapon without lawful authority or reasonable excuse contrary to section 16 (1) of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965.
According to the particulars of offence, on Tuesday 14th October 2025 at Koya Town Wellington in the western area of Freetown maliciously wounded Abdul Fattah Kamara.
Count two alleged that on the same date and place, the defendants assaulted Abdul Fattah Kamara in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
Count three stated that on the same date and place the defendants maliciously damaged one Toyota Camry vehicle with registration number AQF 181 back and front windscreen each valued three thousand five hundred leones, seven leaves zinc and other items equivalent to the total value of ten thousand seven hundred and fifty leones (10,750) property of Abdul Fattah Kamara.
Count four further stated that on the same date and place the defendants were found throwing missiles at Abdul Fattah Kamara’s compound
Count five alleged that on the same date and place the defendants were found in possession of offensive weapons without lawful authority or excused..
When the charges were read and explained to the defendants, no plea taken.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh led Prosecution witness number one Abdul Fattah Kamara a worker at water Quay who recognised all the defendants in the matter. He recalled on the 13th October 2025 he was at home and something transpired between him and the defendants. On the above date all the defendants came to a house which is close to his house with others who were not in court went to the said house with arms and sticks at night well-armed. He said the first defendant held a koboko stick, the second defendant holding a cutlass and the third defendant was carrying a cutlass and pepper water. The witness said the second and third defendants grabbed him and the third defendant splash pepper water in his eyes and instantly became hopeless whilst all defendants grabbed him. At that juncture the prosecutor sought for a short adjournment date.
Counsel representing the defendants A.B Marrah applied for bail on behalf of his clients.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Fornah refused bail and sent the defendants to the male correctional facility in Freetown and adjourned the matter to 27th October 2025.
