One of the primary advantages of having women in leadership roles is the infusion of diverse perspectives.
Women bring unique viewpoints and experiences that can enhance problem-solving and decision-making processes.
This diversity of thought is vital for tackling complex challenges and fostering innovation within the presidency.
At this point, the renowned artist Zainab Sheriff has openly declared her intentions for the flagbearer position of the All People’s Congress (APC) party as well as the presidency of the Republic of Sierra Leone in 2028.
Sheriff made this poised during her engagement with women across the country, which the police abruptly disrupted.
Zainab has insisted that she doesn’t need a clearance to talk to her fellow women in the country.
The “Mammy na Power” made this statement recently shortly after the disruption of her engagement with fellow women across the country at the Bintumani conference centre.
According to the musician, she invited her fellow women at the Bintumani conference centre to engage them on the need for them to support their fellow woman for president come 2028 general elections.
She said the police went and disrupt the programme, ordering everyone to leave the vicinity.
She narrated that when the Bintumani Conference Centre management approached the police to enquire why they decided to take such an impromptu action, their commander told them that it was an order from above.
She explained that they have taken almost six months trying to organise this programme.
“As far I’m concerned, the ‘order from above’ doesn’t love this country and its people, the order from above doesn’t love the Green White and Blue and this is the reason we’re fighting tooth and nail to ensure we remove this order from above through the ballot box come 2028.”
Zainab Sheriff added:
“It is this order from above that has taken citizens and locked them up in cells for more three to four days without charges. This must stop” she maintained.
Attendee, Aminata Koroma from Port Loko expressed dismay over the behaviour of police officers.
Wuyata Musa from Bo said the police are being used by government officials for their selfish gains, but as far as they are concerned they will fully support their fellow women this time around.
Others who came from different parts of the country shared similar sentiments.
