The ongoing alleged wounding case involving Bilkisul Kallon was again arraigned before Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No.2 on Monday 27th October, 2025, on four count charges of wounding with intent, contrary to section 18 and 20 of the Offences against the Persons Act 1861 and raging from assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to section 47 of the Offences Against the Persons Act 1861.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused on Thursday, 2nd October, 2025, at Building One community at Upper George Brook, Dwarzark Farm, Freetown, in the western area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, wounded Isata Mansaray with intent to do her grievous bodily harm.
Count two stated that you on the same date and place, maliciously wounded Isata Mansaray.
Count three alleged that on the same date and place, assaulted Isata Mansaray in a manner thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.
In count Hassan Koroma allegedly assaulted the victm in a manner thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.
When the charges were read and explained to the defendant, no plea was taken.
The Prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of Police Isatu Barber Musa led in prosecution witness number one Isata Mansaray a tailor and recognized the defendant in the matter as her neighbour and recalled on 2nd October, 2025, when she returned home and met a boy weeding her garden, but told him not to uproot her crops in the garden.
Isata stated that she later discovered that her crops were all uprooted and the reported the defendant to her husband and mother who told her to report her to her father which she did, but the defendant told her to report her to the police.
She went on to say that the defendant went inside the apartment of Abu and came out with a pestle, but took it from her hand and handed it over to Kadiatu, adding that, the defendant took the pestle and hit her head thereby wounding her and bled profusely.
Isata furthered that her husband Hassan took photograph of the damage with her phone and was taken to Akon police station where she was issued with a police medical request form which was indorsed at the Lumley Hospital and was identified as Z and the phone produced and tendered as exhibit A.
She noted that when she tried to remove the pestle from the defendant she bit her on her left hand and wounded her and the photograph of the left hand was also taken using the same phone as both pictures were produced and tendered as exhibit AA1-2,” and later made statement to the police.
The defense counsel Lukullay cross examined the witness and applied for bail on behalf of the defendant that she has fixed address and is a bread winner with three children and has reliable sureties to stand in her recognisance. He added that she will not interfere with the prosecution witnesses and will avail herself on every adjournment date and made his application pursuant to section 76 (1)(c) of the Criminal Procedure Act of 2024.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Fornah granted bail to the defendant in sum of thirty thousand leones NLe30,000 and a surety in like sum, must be senior citizen residing in Freetown with fixed address and the surety must produce valid national ID Card. The bail conditions to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar.
The case has been adjourned to 29th October, 2025, for further proceedings.
