Cricket Sierra Leone (CSL) has unveiled nationwide ICC Women’s Cricket in schools which started from 29th September to end on 1st October. The three-day celebration will take place across seven regions, bringing together nine selected girls’ primary and secondary schools.
The initiative will feature Cricket awareness programme, Coaching Clinics, and School Cricket Festivals, aiming to encourage more girls to participate in sports and raise awareness of women’s cricket in the country.
Some of the beneficiary regions include Western Area Urban, Western Area Rural, Bo District in the Southern Region, Tonklili District (Magburaka), Bombali District (Makeni), Port Loko District (Lunsar) and Kenema District.
According to CSL the programme reflects its ongoing commitment to developing cricket at the grassroots level while promoting greater inclusion of girls in the sport.
