Hon. Abdul Kargbo, the Leader of the opposition party, APC in parliament has expressed his appreciation to his comrade Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah aka ‘Chericoco.

He praised him for his exceptional leadership style and the support he had been given to members of parliament  over the years.

He made the submissions on Wednesday 29th May, 2024 during a press conference organised by the Parliarmentary Group at the APC Secretariat in Freetown.

According to Hon. Abdul Kargbo, APC’s running mate,  Hon. Chericoco is a replica of a good and quality leader whose qualities worth emulating.

He noted that the good leadership skills previously portrayed by Hon Chericoco with impact on MPs have further helped them to be strong in the current 6th parliament.

“Today as leader of the opposition, my team (the new MPs) is now vibrant than those of the 5th Parliament,” he said.

As a party, he asked colleagues to be grateful to the running mate who had worked acidiously over the years to nurture young MPs to become who they are today as they now enjoy his leadership traits.

Hon. Abdul Kargbo buttressed on the need to have respect for those who are fighting to restore democracy.

He said the APC MPs in the 6th parliament will bring the APC back to governance.

He sounded confident that such a feat would not be achievable if Chericoco leadership had proven to be a weak leader.

“Chericoco was there to advise us during debate and what should be done.”

“In the last parliament before I went to speak on some buring issues on radio, I first consulted my boss and he guided me on what to say and at the end we achieved our goals,” Hon. Kargbo said.

The leader of opposition also hailed young MPs for their remarkable and tireless effort in executing their parliamentary mandates especially.

He said the party made no mistake in their selection made as to who should be an MP, adding that the current MPs are just so exceptional in delivering their parliamentary duties.

“I am impressed with all of them and I am sure our party stakeholders will do the due deligence during the awarding of symbols to these vibrant MPs,” Hon. Kargbo affirmed.

While in Parliament, Hon. Chericoco was very much grounded in constitutional issues and he has worked for Sierra Leone and its people.

Many citizens have praised the enduring legacies of Hon. Chericoco in terms of support for good legislations passed and implementation of good parliamentary processes and procedures.

His unending humanitarian support to the grassroots is hard to explain and many will not challenge him on that direction.

“Hon. Chericoco has vast experience on the party’s ideology,” an MP from Tonkolili District said.

He said Chericoco is a force to reckon with when it comes to adopting strategies to provide the platform to work for the party’s victory.
