There was a number of youth standing inside a building at Fortune Lane, York Road, Waterloo, smoking Kush.
Despite campaigners of Kush have been pushing hard to get it off the scene, the act still persists among young people.
While there was a heavy rain on Wednesday 3rd September 2025, many youth including women sellers of all sorts of foods were standing, smoking in an unfinished house.
One wonders why campaigners are unable to stop Kush smoking among young people in Sierra Leone.
Earlier, government of Sierra Leone had declared an emergency on ending the prevalence of Kush smoking in the country.
But each day the number of those smoking the deadly drug keeps increasing.
You will see some 40 youth nad more gathering in some place taking the most harmful drug in the country that has been prohibited by the government from smoking it either publicly or secretly.
A citizen of a public transport has commented on this refusal by the youth from stopping to smoke the most deadly drug in Sierra Leone.
“They even make fun out of their colleagues who are dying at some corners especially on dustbins,” the man said.
Kush has killed about a thousand or more youth in Sierra Leone beginning from year 2022.
And it seems government is overwhelmed in the fight to ending Kush smoking among Sierra Leonean youth.
