During last month’s Parliamentary press conference at their national secretariat in Freetown, two of the APC representatives from Tonkolili district, Hon. Aruna Papay Larkoh and Hon. Ing. Daniel Amadu Bangura as key panelists shed light on the state of governance, stressing on corruption, and failed promises of the current SLPP government under President Bio.
Hon. Aruna Papay Larkoh the outspoken and fearless lawmaker dissected the Audit Service Report and compared government accountability under APC and SLPP.
He revealed how the Bio-led administration has crippled institutions that once thrived under APC.
He spoke on the continuous mismanagement of public funds, insisting that the so-called “New Direction” is a failed direction, as well as the deceptive nature of President Bio’s Human Capital Development initiative, exposing it as a political slogan rather than a reality.
Hon. Ing. Daniel Amadu Bangura the development-driven MP of Lower Yoni stressed what he termed as the empty promises made by the SLPP.
He reminded the nation of President Bio’s 2018 manifesto, where he promised among other things primary schools in every section, secondary schools in every chiefdom, and senior secondary schools in every constituency, significant improvements in education, yet rural communities remain neglected, massive infrastructural development, but roads, healthcare, and social amenities remain in a deteriorated state.
Hon. Bangura did not hold back, but labeled the Bio-led government as “Scam Government” that has deceived Sierra Leoneans for six years.
In the area of the APC’s vision for a better Sierra Leone, while exposing SLPP’s failures, the two MPs proposed practical solutions to rebuild Sierra Leone’s broken economy, revamp public institutions and restore hope to the people.
