The flagship project of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) government is to cater for vulnerable school going pupils in the country, Africa24 newspaper has discovered that the West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE), which has been conducted by the West Africa Examination Council Sierra Leone (WAEC-SL); is highly intensifies with 95% examination malpractices outward in many school centers.

Education is Sierra Leone has drastically dropped down over the years, Sierra Leoneans at home and aboard have no value in certificates issued all because pupils/students could no longer defend what they have acquired from numerous institutions.

The Free School Education, can only reflect itself if Stakeholders are corruption free from examination malpractices and political premeditated goal. Sierra Leone was once called the ‘Athens of West Africa’ but today all has been misplaced because of the Illegal attitude of the educational system under President Bio administration.

Sierra Leone education scheme is widely discussed at bay due to its output nowadays regarding public assessments in reputable institutions in the country.

The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary School Education (MBSSE), West Africa Examination Council Sierra Leone (WAEC-SL) and other line ministries should work together for pure monitoring during and after examinations, because some centers remain highly sub-standard an uncertain base on the findings.

The MBSSE is in total mess over the years coupled with the terrible nature of myriad centers. Though, the Council of Principal of Schools (CPS) mounted serious challenges to newsmen not to access the examination centers for credible and independent information during the process.

However, on Thursday 1st June, 2023 when General Mathematics (Paper 1 &2) exams were ongoing at 10:00am, the Anti-Corruption Commission ACC visited Kwama Academy Secondary School in the Western Rural District with a van (SLE -AFJ 765) as over Twenty thousand Leones (20,000), phones and bags worthy Forty thousand Leones (40,000) were also collected and carted away.

Meanwhile, ACC proclaimed personels are yet to make any press release on the said matter.

Speaking to the  Public Relations Unit of ACC, they  promised to supply Africa24 newspaper full  details but no to avail; this medium discovered that 95% of pupil’s are using their android phones in examination halls across the country to enable them utilized leakage questions.

Pupils are always preview to WASSCE questions before the commencement of any paper through their Whataspp groups because the latest slogan now is ‘Social Media WASSCE EXAMS.’ The incumbent government is playing with the future of the youth in terms of human capital.
