Saio Pessy Marrah who is a student on Monday, 14th October, 2014, made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown.
The accused stood on two count charges to wit Conpiracy Contrary to Law and Obtaining Money by false pretence Contrary to Section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on diverse dates between 2023 and 2024 at Crab Town Lumley in Freetown.
The unknown suspect identified as student conspired together and with another person to commit a crime to obtain money by false pretences.
Count two further noted that on the same date the accused person with intent to defraud obtained the sum of Thirty eight thousand leones ( 38,000) from Barnard Kainesie by falsely pretending to enroll his brother for an online educational program knowing same to be false.
The charges were read and explained to the accused person and no plea was given.
The prosecutor Deputy Superintendent of police Sorie Conteh sought for a short adjournment date for him to get time to talk to the witness.
Magistrate, Bangura refused the accused bail based on the crime levied against him.
However, the case has been adjourned to the 15th of October, 2024, for further proceedings.
